Cold Plasma is created when helium gas is energized by radiofrequency energy delivered through the Renuvion J-Plasma device. Dr. Ramos has performed the J-Plasty Body procedure on men and women of all age groups ranging from 20 to 80 years old. The Renuvion J-Plasma treatment is ideal for patients with mild to moderate loose skin due to weight loss, pregnancy or aging. Traditional abdominoplasty, brachioplasty or body contouring procedure is recommended for those patients with more advanced needs. J-Plasty Body is also ideal for those who have had non-surgical body contouring procedures, but did not see significant improvement.
J-Plasty Body is an excellent add on treatment to standard liposuction or liposculpting in patient who will have moderate loose skin after these cosmetic procedures.
The J-Plasty is performed in-office using local anesthesia. We start the procedure with tiny, hidden incisions strategically placed based on the area of the body to be treated. Dr. Ramos will then use the J-Plasma device sub-dermally (under the skin) to deliver cold plasma, which instantly tightens, shrinks and rejuvenates your skin from the inside out. Results are immediate and continue to improve for six to nine months.
Dr. Ramos will address all your concerns ahead of time and discuss what your desired results are. He will also explain his technique and anesthesia options. We will also provide pre-operatory instructions with more detailed information and instructions.
A member of our team will check in with you the day after your procedure. It is normal for the treated area of your body to feel a bit tight or sore. Minor discomfort can be treated with over the counter Tylenol. However, if you have low pain tolerance, we will prescribe you a stronger pain reliever.
Patients have to wear a compression garment for one to three weeks based on the degree of skin laxity. Mild swelling or bruising if occurs may take one to two weeks to resolve, however most patients are able to resume normal activities as early as one day post procedure.
