What is J-Plasma Resurfacing

J-Plasma resurfacing is a procedure that uses cold plasma energy to promote dramatic skin tightening and rejuvenation. This technology uses ionized helium gas that is able to ablate tissue at an extremely low, controlled temperature causing minimal collateral damage to surrounding tissue. The J-Plasma was developed for controlled and precise medical applications such as removing cancerous lesions and was found to beneficial in aesthetic and cosmetic procedures due to the incredible cellular rejuvenation. The Renuvion J-Plasma is different from the PRP plasma treatment which is the platelet rich plasma found in our blood. The Renuvion J-Plasma skin resurfacing can treat delicate areas as the eyelids without causing damage to surrounding tissues.

Procedure

We perform your Renuvion J-Plasma skin resurfacing treatment as an outpatient procedure using local anesthesia. Dr. Ramos uses the J-plasma wand and gently “paints” the areas of the face with the plasma energy. Patients can choose to treat their full face or target the peri-oral (mouth) or peri-ocular area. The Renuvion skin resurfacing can be added to many of our cosmetic procedures for remarkable results.

Pre-Treatment

Our team will assist you with all the information you need for exceptional results with your Renuvion J-Plasma skin resurfacing procedure. Dr. Ramos will address all your concerns ahead of time and discuss pre and post treatment care. He will also explain his technique and anesthesia options.

Prior to the procedure we recommend to discontinue the use of products containing aspirin, garlic, ginseng, green tea, vitamin E and fish oil for two weeks as they may increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.

Post-Treatment

Dr. Ramos or someone from our team will check in with you after your treatment. Initial swelling, redness and bruising can take one to two weeks to resolve. About three to nine months are needed until the final results are stable. J-plasma skin resurfacing may cause pinkness for one to two months post procedure. Minor pain can be treated with over the counter Tylenol, however if you are sensitive to

pain, we can prescribe stronger analgesic. We recommend to apply moisturizers, Vaseline or Aquaphore all day long for at least 7 days post procedure.
