Arm Lift

An arm lift is a cosmetical procedure to improve the appearance of the under portion of your arms. As you age, your skin will get loose and wrinkly creating excess ski bags under the arms.  The arm lift removes excess skin and fat from between the arm pit and elbow reducing saggy skin that droops downward, if you have a lot of excess skin, we may need to extend the incision into the armpit area. Arm lift allows patients to have smooth and tighter upper arms.

Patients should be realistic with their expectations. With an arm lift, particularly if we remove significant amount of fat and skin there will be scarring afterwards. We will try to hide the incision by bringing it closer to the inside of the arm but we cannot predict how the scar will migrate.  Some patients will benefit of two-staged procedure with liposuction first to contour the arms followed with skin removal at a later time. The advantages of this two-stage procedure are better contouring of the arms, less complications, less pain and improved safety.

The procedure takes two to three hours. We perform arm lift in our cosmetic center with local anesthesia and mild sedation, patients go home soon after the surgery. Afterwards, you will wear a compression garment for two to three weeks to help control post-operative swelling. Patients usually resume light activity a couple of days after surgery.
