The buccal fat pad also called “Bichat’s fat pad” is a distinct and separated structure from the malar fat pad and also provides facial volume. The buccal fat pad reduction is a procedure that can assist in reducing the lower cheek area in selected patients that seek to slim the lower part of their face. Sometimes the results are very noticeable and sometime they are very subtle, it is influence by the amount of buccal fat the patient possess.
