Non-Surgical Rhynoplasty

Non-surgical rhinoplasty (NSR) can correct mild to moderate cosmetic nasal irregularities. We perform this procedure in our office using long-lasting injectable fillers. This procedure is suitable for patients who want to avoid surgery, the associated risks, recovery and expense. Not all patients are candidates for the NSR procedure. Some are better served by a surgical approach. Most of them are patients who need a reduction of their nose.

The NSR is performed to achieve the following cosmetic goals:

• Raise and better define an underdeveloped nasal dorsum
• Camouflage a dorsal bump
• Correct asymmetry of the tip or nasal dorsum
• Raise and better define a droopy nose tip

The procedure is performed with the patient sitting straight up, leaning their head against a head rest to minimize head movement. We apply anesthetic cream on the nose for about 20 minutes prior to the procedure. Following removal of the anesthetic cream, the patient ices the area to be injected. During the injection procedure, the patient can self-administer nitrous oxide for additional pain control if needed.

Currently, hyaluronic acid is the most popular filler material for aesthetic injections due to its natural look and feel, and is reversible with hyaluronidase. Voluma and Lyft are fillers with high viscosity and high elastic modulus that will lift tissue and hold it well. Voluma last longer than Lyft and would be the ideal choice.
